Scott Minos, has been a communications specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) since 1987. During this lecture, he will discuss the department’s programs, the nation’s energy situation, and challenges to building energy infrastructures. He will highlight advances expected in renewable and nuclear energy sources and will discuss FutureGen, the department’s $1 billion, public-private initiative to build the world’s first near-zero-emissions, coal-fueled power plant. Minos holds a master’s degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University, and a master’s degree in public administration from Princeton University. During his time at the DoE, Minos has held various communications positions with the Department of Energy since 1987. Prior to his employment with the Department of Energy, he worked as a Press Secretary for a member of the Florida House of Representatives. |
