Painting with Professionals
Come out and join us for pottery painting at Cafe Monet on Thursday, February 16th from 7pm to 9pm. We'll be talking to the SWE Southwest Professional Section in a causal setting. Learn what it means to be a professional member! This should be tons of fun, food and drinks will be provided. There is a $10 fee to go, but it's still a great deal since the normal cost would be $20. If you are interested, go to the SWE office and sign up, we will be providing transportation to and from Cafe Monet.
SWEet Feet Race
The first SWEet feet race of the semester will be the Paramount Break-a-leg 5k on Sunday, February 19th! The race starts at 7:30 am on 16th street and Congress Ave in downtown Austin. We will be carpooling from the SWE office if you need a ride. Registration fee is $37 and paid SWE members may be partially or completely reimbursed for the fee. Email Meagan Wilkes at mwilkes@utexas.edu with any questions or to sign up. Thanks!

E-WEEK
Get
excited for E-Week (Engineers Week), which begins THIS Friday, February
17th, and ends on Friday, February 24th! This week-long competition
presents many fun events and opportunities (and a huge scavenger hunt)
for you to help SWE win this year. We need lots of participants in order
to beat IEEE and ASME, and prove that SWE is the best! Represent SWE by
competing in or attending events. We get points for participation as
well as winning, so signing in for SWE at events is just as important!
SWE is also participating in SEC's Penny Wars, so help us out by
bringing your spare change to the McKinney Engineering Library (ECJ
1.300) during E-Week. Organizations get 1 point for every penny in
their jar and lose points for other coins (e.g. -25 points for every
quarter, -100 points for every dollar), so make sure to put pennies in
ours and all your other change other organizations' jars (like IEEE and
ASME)! All the proceeds go to Austin Children's Shelter, so you will
also be benefiting the community in addition to winning SWE E-Week
points! Be on the lookout for more E-Week Updates!
